Engaging Beginning
The turn of the 19th century lead to many great and horrific things. Such as WWI and the great depression. With all these hard things happening how could anyone make anything of their self. Well the turn of the 19th century also lead to something else important, the birth of Walt Disney. Walt is one of the most successful entrepreneurs of the 20th century. Even with all these hard things going on around him he was able to make something of himself. He even served in red cross at only the age of 16, only for a year driving an ambulance and chauffeuring Red Cross officials. There is more to Walt Disney then people think. He wasn't only a good artist with a vivid imageination. He had it all from creativaty to marketing skills. Walt Disney was truly a master of the bussiness trade.

Fourth Annotation and Fifth Annotation
This is my fourth annotation on Walt Disney. Since we are doing a documentary I decided to do another picture. http://www.justdisney.com/images/Disneyland/plans.jpg. This is the link to the picture I choose. This is a picture of Walt showing his plans for the creation of Disneyland. I think this picture is important because it shows that a lot of the architecture of Disneyland was thought up by Walt himself, instead of a professional team.
I have been using this same site a lot lately. As I have said before I will use this site frequently since it is very helpful. This whole site was made and written by Brad Aldridge Productions, Berkeley, CA. This is a primary source, which makes it very useful.
My fifth annotation on Walt Disney is the cartoon Steamboat Willie. This is the first cartoon in which Micky Mouse appeared in. This was also the first fully synchronized sound cartoon. Micky Mouse is probally the most known characters of all of Walt Disney's.
This cartoon was made in 1928 on November 18th. It premiered at the Colony Theatre in New York. This cartoon was and instant hit and people took a liking to Walt's work with cartoons. This was just the first cartoon of Mickey and many more would sure be to come.

Thesis
Walt Disney was one of the most successful enturpenure's of the 20th century. Almost everything he got invovled in he just struck gold with. From small cartoon sketches to big animated live action movies. But everything wasnt allways going good. He hit many hard times during his stride to be a cartoon artist. He often times found himself at a bankrupt bussiness or having nothing at all but the clothes on his back. Walt Diseny was a pioneer and innovator, he had one of the most creative minds of not only his time but of all time.
Third Annotation
My thrid annotation is from the same site of my second annotation. I looked around on the website and there is a lot of helpful information on it. The specific thing I was looking for this time around was an primary source, and I found some. The link to the picture is http://www.justdisney.com/images/walt_disney_photos/unedited_pics/WaltOscars.JPG.
The picture doesn't look like much, but you know the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. This is Walt after his studio won 4 academy awards. I chose to look at this picture because it shows how sucessfull his studio was.

Second Annotation
This is my second annotation on Walt Disney. The spcific thing I looked at this time was how he actually made his animation. First a story board is made and the whole film is thought up. Then the directors come together and discuss what will be in the final cut. After that the dialogue is done so the animators will now what the characters will say. The characters are then thought of and sketches are made. They put all the sketches together and choose what ones will used. Last they put all the sketches all together and add the voices, and make the final edit then it is released for public viewing.

First Annotation
For my first annotation i found a good website that has a biography of Walt Disney. The link of the site is http://www.norsknettskole.no/fag/ressurser/itstud/fuv/gunnargrodal/bio.htm. This gives me a lot of background about his life. It talks about where he grew up and when he first moved to holly wood as an inspiring artist. It also tells me about when and where he made his first cartoon, and his first big hit. It even tells me about his personal life when he got married and who was his spouse and if he had any kids. This was a secondary source but nevertheless helpful. I will start to look for primary sources since they can be very helpful with my research.
Topic Selection Post
I chose to do Walt Disney for my NHD project because I am interested in his career and rise to fame when he had to go through one of the most difficult times in American history, the Great Depression. He is important because he was a pioneer or cartoon animations and combining live action cartoons with stop animation cartoons. He is sometimes call the most significant person in art since Leonardo DaVinci.
