Hurting a child sounds a little harsh doesn’t it? I don’t think it is; well to a certain extent it is ok. If a parent cares for a child they should be able to discipline it. I have a few reasons for my thoughts.
First of all sometimes the only way to get a child to listen is to give them a little smack on the head. Don’t get me wrong I don’t think a parent should beat the child half to death, or leave them with bruises. I just think that some kids wont listen to you unless u discipline then which sometimes means hitting them.
On top of that I feel that the parent has the authority to discipline their children. The parent takes care of that kid, feed them. Clothes them, and puts a roof over their head. Why should they allow to hit the kids once in a while? Again I would like to say that when I say hit I mean that they should be able to discipline them in a humane way.
Now this ties in with Huck Finn because his father abuses him. But I think the way he hits him cannot be justified as discipline. He does it for no reason and hurts Huck Finn real bad sometimes. The way he hits him is just inhuman and wrong.
Sometimes parents need to go to extremes to get their kids to listen. They also care for the child so therefore should be able to discipline them. These are the reasons why I think parents should be able to hit their kids. This is also how it ties in with the story Huck Finn.

Should Huck Finn be taught in CHS
Murder, sex, and drugs don’t sound like a good book for kids right. Huck Finn has all these things in the book so I guess it is not suitable for kids. Well I disagree. These are all the things that make a good book and interesting. Half the times when kids are giving books to read they don’t even read past the first page, because it cant keep their attention, but not with Huck Finn. On top of that it is written well.
To start out I will say that as a book that has all the wrong things according to “The Man,” it is pretty well written. The way Mark twain uses the words to make it sound like you are actually down south in the 1800’s is brilliant. He also uses great imagery so you don’t only read the story you see it to. Listen to these lines describing a thunderstorm “My souls how the wind did scream along. And every other second or two there’d come a glare that lit up the white caps for half a mile around, and you see the islands looking dusty through the rain, and the trees thrashing around in the wind.” With imagery like that how can the book not be a good thing to teach in a school?
Also the book has the action to keep kids reading. Most times when teachers give out a story to read half of the class doesn’t even read it, because it is too boring. But when a teacher gives out Huck Finn to a class they know the kids will read it. I know this because I like to read this book. I say this because most books can’t keep my attention but this one can.
In conclusion all the things that make it a bad book, really make it a good book. It also has a lot of good things in it too. The imagery and the words make it a powerful book, and good teaching material. These are the reasons why Huck Finn should be taught in CHS.

Cat in the Hat
Well let me first start out with explaining what the id, ego, and super ego is. The id is the part of the mind that just wants what it wants and doesn't care what anyone else wants. The super ego is the part that takes in other peoples wants and needs. And the ego is that paret that balances these two parts out. In my cat in the hat essay i stated that for most of the story the cat id was in controll of him. I also said that for the most part of it his ego and super ego were dormint. These parts finnaly came out in the end when the kids mother was coming home and the cat had to clean up his mess.
POG 2
My POG 2 stated that I belive that the constituion does solve conflicts. And my examples were that of when Truman was president, I-socitey, and when president Bush veto a bill. It helped when Truman was president and he try to take over the steel mills and in the constituion it stated that he did not have the power to do this. It helped us in the I-socitey when the surperme court checked congress by saying the I-chip was unconstituional. Last but not least is when it helped with the conflict that a roose when Bush veto a bill. The bill was about unvirsal health care for childern and Bush didn't agree with this so he veto the bill. All these are perfect examples of how the consitution helps us in our time of conflict .

Graduation 2011
Four years seems like a long time. Who knows what can happen in four years? Well let me let you in on a little secret I know. That is right I know four years from now I will be up on stage and hear my name called to get my diploma. The reasons why I know this is because I am smart, persistent, and my family supports me.
Let me start out with that I am a very intelligent. I know this because I always get good grades. I’ve have been getting them my whole school career. I also know this because I am always getting complimented on my school work and how professional I act.
On top of that my family motivates me to stay in school. Both of my parents graduated high school and my brother is a senior in Central. They are always there to pick me up when I am down and help me with my homework. They also play little roles when I start my day. I don’t think I would ever get to school on time if it wasn’t for my mom waking me up everyday.
In addition to that I am very persistent. I want to graduate to make a better life for myself. No matters what will happen I will stay in school and get my diploma. I will stay into school to keep of the streets and out of trouble. There is no way I can get into trouble if I keep my head in the books and my eyes on the goal of graduation.
I will graduate in 2011 because I am intelligent, my family supports me, and for the main fact I want to graduate. Four years from now I know where I will be. Do you?

Picture observation
In the photo there is a bunch of people gathered around a big red wood. I think the people feel a little bit in awe because the tree is so big. I think they think they are thinking this is a proud moment becuase how many people can say that they stood in front of a tree that was over 100 feet tall. I think they took it for the memories what other way to rememeber a moment then taking picture. Welll of course the picture is not telling the whole story. How can a picture of one tree show a the whole story? Misunderstandings happen while viewing photos because it shows u where it is but it doesnt tell u excalty where it is or when it is or even what part of the year was taking. Photos can distort reality because it just shows you a little picture and not the whole enviroment.

Security vs internet freedom at schools
I feel that there is the right amount of internet security at schools. I think this because students do not really need to acess certian sites on school time. The computers at school should be used as a learning tool not one to do watever the persons want. These are the reasons why I think internet security at schools is a good thing.

My philsophy on government
MY phisophy of government is that it is needed. I agree with both Locke and Hobbs. I feel this way because people need somebody to keep them in order. But i also think that every person is entitled to freedom. A country without a government would be in mad chaos. Also the government provides services, protection, and civil rights. These are the reasons why i think government is needed.
